Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main

The most popular exam for engineering aspirants, the JEE, which is an online exam, is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), across India. This is also the most sought-after entrance exam after the 12th PCM. It is held for admission to BE and BTech and BArch and B.Planning programs in various Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs) and National Institute of Technology (NITs).

Common University Entrance Test (CUET)

This computer-based test (CBT) is your gateway to garnering a seat to any undergraduate programs of different universities pan-India. This is the only exam in the country to take if you are open to studying at any central university. This way, you have a wide choice to get admission to a course you wish to pursue.

Vellore Institute of Technology (VITEE)

You can take this exam for entry into the undergraduate engineering courses at the university. A computer-based test, it is conducted by VIT once every year for admission to various programs in the field of engineering. It also offers some of the best courses after the 12th Science PCM.

Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT)

This is also a computer-based competitive entrance. It is taken for admission to the integrated first-degree courses in BITS Pilani (main campus), and Hyderabad and Goa campuses. You can take this exam to garner a seat in an engineering programme of your choice at one of the BITS institutes.

Manipal Entrance Test (MET)

This exam was previously known as the MU OET. Conducted by Manipal University, it’s your gateway to various engineering courses and is conducted each year in two phases. It is held in 80 cities in the country as well as in Dubai, in an online mode.

The Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka Undergraduate Entrance Test (COMED-K UGET)

This is a state-based exam that is conducted by the COMED-K. It offered several engineering programs. At present, about 190 engineering colleges are affiliated with the test for admissions. This exam is also a computer based one.
