Besides, online learning platforms are creating extraordinary courses that are taught by renowned professionals who also offer dedicated mentorship and expert career guidance.

What is online education?

Online education is a form of teaching that relies on the internet. In this type of learning, the tutor communicates directly with the students and help them understand the subject they have enrolled. The students do not have to attend classes physically. They can simply log in from anywhere and begin learning.

Typically, such classes include text, animation, audios, videos and more, which makes learning exciting and fun.

Types of online learning

1. Asynchronous online courses:

Such type of online courses does not take place in real-time. Students who opt for such courses are provided with content and assignments that they have to complete within a time frame, along with other submissions and exams. Interactions usually take place through blogs, wikis and discussion boards.

Students who opt for such types of courses usually have busy schedules or face time constraints.

2. Synchronous online courses:

These types of courses happen in real-time where the students and the instructors interact online simultaneously. Here, participants can interact with each other through audio chat, text or video. Such online courses enable students to participate and learn irrespective of their geographical location.

3. Hybrid courses:

Also known as blended courses, such courses are platforms that allow for both online and in-person interaction. In this type of learning, enrolled students get their feedback from online quizzes and tests. Hybrid courses provide several online-based communication where students and tutors can interact face-to-face.

Online learning is one of the greatest and most impactful revolutions in the education sector. It gives students a chance to learn from anywhere in the world. Provided, they have a stable internet connection. This cuts a lot of time and money spent on the commute. Online education also allows you to track your course progress easily and efficiently with the help of an LMS. An LMS or learning management system opens a window for students to chart their growth. This is exactly how cloud-based learning makes education smarter.

Unfortunately, free internet is a luxury in many parts of our country. A vast section of the Indians resides in the rural parts of the country where they face connectivity and accessibility issues. However, slowly, we are making progress and aiming towards making the internet and online education reach even the remotest location of the country, so every child can have access to learning.
