Established in 1958 in the Powai, in Mumbai city and the state of Maharashtra, it boasts excellent education and research. In 1961, it was declared as the Institute of National Importance by the Indian government. With a sprawling campus of over 550 acres, it is the first IIT that was founded with international assistance. Fourth on the list, it has a score of 82.02 and provides top-notch facilities and teaching resources. It was known as the College of Engineering and Technology earlier and was bestowed with the IIT tag in 1963. The Indian government declared it as the Institute of National Importance under the Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Act of 1963. The institute has six streams, namely Science, IT, engineering, Management, Arts, and Design. The student strength crosses over 7,000 at this institute and it is considered as a premium college that offers an excellent infrastructure and faculty.

Situated in Kanpur in the state of Uttar Pradesh, it scores 81.07, standing in fifth place in the all-India ranking. It is a premium IIT and falls in the 500-1000 institutes in the QS world university rankings. With a world-class faculty, infrastructure and laboratories, it is opted for by top rankers. It also has affiliations with some of the top-tier global institutes for academic and research initiatives. The Indian government declared this IIT as an Institute of National Importance in 1959. IIT Roorkee, Roorkee

Launched in 1847, it was initially known as the College of Civil Engineering at Roorkee (1847–1854), later changing to Thomason College of Civil Engineering (1854–1947) and then the University of Roorkee (1947–2001). In 2001, it turned into the seventh IIT in the country under an ordinance issued by the government. This makes it the oldest engineering institute in the country. Spread across more than 500 acres, this institute is one of the eight newer IITs and is ranked ninth with a score of 74.88. With a superlative faculty, it has a student strength of around 1500. This institute is known for its comfortable facilities, be it recreational, healthcare, sports, or anything else.
