Revised Dates Announced for JEE and NEET 2020 Exam

The rapid spread of the coronavirus forced the Government of India to reschedule all examinations in March 2020. The JEE Main examination, which was scheduled to take place from 5th to 11th April, was also cancelled. On the 5th of May, the Ministry of Human Resource and Development (HRD) declared new dates for the JEE and NEET examinations.

JEE and NEET 2020 Revised Dates

As per the new schedule, the JEE (Mains) for this year will be conducted from 18th to 23rd July. The NEET will be conducted on the 26th of July. The JEE-Advanced is scheduled for August.

The NEET will be conducted on the 26th of July. The JEE-Advanced is scheduled for August. This year, over 15 lakh students signed up for the NEET, hoping to secure a place in a medical college. On the other hand, 9 lakh individuals signed up for the JEE Mains, looking for a place in engineering colleges.

JEE & NEET Preparation

The JEE (Mains) results are expected as early as the end of July. This will ensure that the JEE-Advanced exam can happen in August. NEET results are expected by the end of August.

Along with the new dates, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has also provided registered students with the option to change their exam centre. This decision was taken since a number of students have moved around or are stranded due to the lockdown.

While the JEE and NEET dates have been declared, no decision has been made regarding the pending CBSE board exam papers. The dates for these exams should be confirmed quite soon. Care will be taken to ensure that there are no clashing dates with entrance exams. The evaluation work for the completed exams will also begin shortly. In a few states, evaluation work has already begun for those who appeared for examinations under the state board.

With the new dates declared, students can work on their study schedules and prepare for the upcoming JEE and NEET exams.
