Top 5 Things Online Students Need to Enjoy an Active Life

Online education in India has seen an upward swing in the last few years. This is primarily because 50 crore students in India fall in the age bracket of 5-24 years, which makes it almost impossible for educators to provide a decent learning opportunity to such a huge number of candidates, through traditional methods.

This is why internet courses have become more popular in India and have helped technology in shaping the future of education in our country. But, while students often come up with a list of important questions to ask before joining an online course, they fail to create a list of things to do in order to enjoy an active life as an online student.

Since candidates spend a lot of time on the internet, along with other students who are only virtually available, they tend to ignore their social life. This can impact their physical as well as emotional health. But, there are a few ways students can enjoy an active life while receiving education via the internet. They are:

1. Be organised:

As an online student, you need to be organised. Make a list of things to do, and do them on time. Since online education doesn’t have anyone monitoring you, students tend to get laid-back and push deadlines. This will only hamper your overall productivity and swallow a lot of time. Therefore, do all your chores on time and spend a few hours on things you enjoy doing.

2. Exercise daily:

This should be on the top of your list. Remember, as an online student you will spend a lot of time on your desk that will involve little to no physical activity. So make it a point to spend a few hours exercising daily. This will relieve you of stress, both physical and mental. You don’t have to go to a gym, just running or walking for at least 45 minutes should be enough.

3. Don’t skip your breakfast:

Wake up on time and enjoy a good breakfast. Just because you don’t have to rush out, doesn’t mean you should postpone your first meal of the day. On the contrary, make use of the time you have by spending it on enjoying a hearty meal with your family until it’s time to get back to your books.

4. Finish your assignments on time:

As mentioned earlier, online education does not have someone to monitor you at all times. This can lead to procrastination, which will clash with your other deadlines and make you feel exhausted by the end of the day. So, make sure to be active and disciplined throughout the duration of your course.

5. Connect with your peers:

Online education can be lonely. With minimum face-to-face interaction with your educators and peers, it can be difficult to build a rapport with them; especially if you are an introvert. This is why you are advised to build a supportive relationship with your classmates. You can even connect with them offline, as it will give you a more well-rounded and diverse experience.

Along with these tips, it is also important for you to get good sleep. As you will be spending a lot of time staring at the screen, it is essential to give your eyes some rest whenever you can.
